2019 IWD Celebration
In this event, we’re joining forces to promote #BalanceFor Better, IWD 2019’s global theme of gender equity, by honoring the women in our community and beyond.
This year, along with local performers, speakers and women-focused businesses, entrepreneurs and vendors, we’re welcoming a very special guest: renowned feminist activist Dr. Loretta Ross, who has worked with D.C. Rape Crisis Center, National Organization for Women (NOW), National Black Women’s Health Project, Center for Democratic Renewal (National Anti-Klan Network), National Center for Human Rights Education, and SisterSong Women of Color Reproductive Justice Collective. Dynamic and inspiring, Dr. Ross's conversations encourage the transformation of apathy and anger into activism for social justice.
At a time when our hard-won reproductive rights are under unprecedented assault, women and their allies need to band together and fight back. To that end, we count on your support to continue our essential work to keep women’s health in women’s hands. Your sponsorship will help to sustain the Network and our International Women's Day Celebration as well as our other woman-focused activities throughout the year.
